This snow boot from Kamik features an adjustable strap and a warm layer in insulation. Kamik comes from a place of extremes. Where the harshest conditions intersect with some of the most beautiful sights you'll ever see. At Kamik, we make footwear that brings to life our northern origins. Singular. Strong. Simply dependable. We've been doing it for over 100 years. Day after day. 24/7. The result of all this effort: a complete line of outdoor footwear built to deliver superior comfort and reliable protection in the most extreme conditions. We know you wouldn't have it any other way.
I bought these for my almost 2 year old who is currently wearing a toddler 6 and based on reviews I ordered up a size and got a toddler 7 but they are way to big and even with two pairs of thick socks they wear easily pulled right off her feet! I also ordered the pumpkin boots for my 3 year old who wears a toddler 9 and again I went up a size based on reviews and ordered a size 10 again they are big but because of the double straps they stay on they will not pull off. I am returning these and getting her normal size in the pumpkins because I like them more due to the double straps which seem to keep out the snow while these ones do not because of the loose tongue that sticks out on top and I like the removable liner inside that is actually warmer and rated for -25° While these just have an un removable faux fur lining which is soft but not as warm I actually put my cold hands in both these and the pumpkins to try to see the difference and after 5 mins my hand in the pumpkins were sweating and these my fingertips were still cold.We love these boots for our preschooler! We started buying them for her first winter and now are on our third pair as she sizes up. These boots open up wide and fasten with one simple velcro closure-so easy, even on an antsy child! I love that they are trim enough to easily get the snowpant elastic over the top of these. They are not especially tall, so I purposely buy tall socks and pull them up over my daughter's leggings before putting the boots on. This way, we have a few levels of insurance against the dreaded snow-down-the-boot-and-against-the-skin problem! These are super fuzzy on the inside, which was important to us here in Minnesota, and my daughter has never complained about cold toes (and she complains about a lot of things, let me tell you...) I think the thing I like best, though, is that she seems very comfortable walking in them. They don't seem as clunky as a lot of winter boots. She is not the most coordinated child (wow, I'm not really selling her in this review, am I?!?) but she does fine in these, even in deep snow and on ice. Highly recommended for toddlers and preschoolers!Fit notes: I do think they run a bit small, and we pair them with thick socks, so I would recommend buying up one size, or possibly even two if you want to extend the wear. I also think they fit better on average to narrow feet than on wide feet.We love these boots for our toddler! I also feel they fit average to narrow feet better than wide feet. This should get 10 stars: 5 from me and 5 from my 18-mo son. When I tell him it's time to go put on his shoes, he will often bring me these boots and insist and insist that I put them on him. He loved them from the first instant I put them on him, and this is despite the fact that this was the 5th or so pair that I had had him try on, and I was a little worried I had made him hate boots. But he loved them, and he loves stomping his feet when he has them on.They go on extremely easily, which is a super plus with a toddler. They also stay on. They have not come off a single time while walking, playing, jumping. They have come off sometimes when taking him off his high chair, etc (i.e. when they get caught on something), but that's to be expected. They are also very warm, and they do seem to be very water proof. They only con I can think of is that the strap is kinda low (which makes putting them on so easy), which means that there's a rather large "lip." I haven't had a need to use them in deep snow, so this wasn't a problem, but I can see how it would be if there was enough snowMy daughter wears leg braces and it is extremely hard to find snow boots that will fit. I was cautiously optimistic but hopeful when I ordered these. On first try, I could not get the brace in. Then I remembered that another mom (whose child also wears leg braces) said that you just had to really push the brace in. I tried that technique and voila it went in. I then put the braces on my daughter and used that same technique. They went on, she loves them, says they are comfortable and she walks well in them. They only arrived today so she has not had the chance to wear them in the snow yet. Thus far the only downside is that they gap at the top so deep snow will probably be an issue and the plush lining sheds like crazy. Hoping that the shedding decreases over time.Only (affordable) Made in USA/Canada snow boots I have found in the market, they are very well built and my toddler seems to find them comfortable, as he asks to wear them even when it is not snowing. I got him a size 6 last year and he used it less then other shoes, as I am not in an area where it snows that much. I was a little worried about having to clean the furry inside, as it seems like a hard task (that is why I gave a 4 and not 5 stars, as I have seen boots with a removable layer), but I just made sure he always had clean socks before wearing them and I didn't have to clean it. Although the size 6 still barely fits him this year, I got another pair of bigger size for this winter. I am positive my younger one will be able to wear both pairs as well, as it is a good product, so it seemed like a good investment to make.Let's just keep this simple...Parents are looking for great quality boots that are easy to put on and will last a long time. These boots nail it and at a very reasonable price may I add. My little guy LOVES these boots, they're a breeze to slide in and out of and they keep his little adorable feet nice and warm in our harsh and stupid cold Canadian winters. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about these things.Buy them and never look back.Great lightweight, warm boots. Super easy to get on a wriggling toddler and he walks well in them.Only thought if you're playing in deep snow (deep for little legs) you may wish to look into the kamik boots with a toggle to tighten around the leg as snow can easily creep in the top of this styleSuper soft interior that feels warm and plush. My son just 3 and he's getting more adventurous so we needed boots that are waterproof. These boots work well as my little one trudges through ice, snow, and slush. His feet don't get wet and he definitely won't get frostbite! These are just perfect. My little one has a wide foot with a tall bridge. Makes for very hard to find shoes. These are awesome. Easy to put on and very comfortable. And a great price. Perfect snow boots.Nothing bad to say. Love these boots! Soft and easy to put on a toddler. You becomes rightdown andfolds over for easy getting ready. Valero sticks good too. So far had them for two months and no issue.
